Office 2003 remains after upgrade to 2007

I upgraded from Office 2003 Pro to 2007 Standard on XP Pro. Add/Remove
Programs indicates that 2003 remains on my PC. Had data file problems in
Outlook today and for a while all outbound mail stacked up in Outbox while I
got server connection errors. Ran Office diagnostic, which indicated "two
conflicting versions of Outlook" on my computer, adn then did something that
fixed the Outbox stack problem.

Should I go into Add/Remove and remove Odffice 2003?

I would remove both, rebooting after each uninstall and then reinstall
Office 2003 and throw 07 in the trash. That said, if you really want 07,
reinstall that after uninstalling both.

Delete both from the system and install only Office 2007 after saving the data you want or need

To check - that would entail exporting address book and all personal folders,
then re-importing them?

No you dont Export any Outlook Data, or Import any for that matter.
Uninstalling a program doesnt impact on the data files.
Make a backup of your data, which you should have any way, with outlook data
that only requires you to copy the outlook *.pst file(s) with outlook closed
to some other location.
