office 2003 Save as hangs

Hi: I have one machine which when you use Excel or Word
and use the file->Save as function. Pops up the folder
box and goes non responsive for a while. after pausing it
works but it's an annoyance.
Has Anyone encountered these symptoms before and perhaps
has a solution?

Have you disabled the Office Plug-in in Norton AntiVirus?

Hi Bill,

I do have the same problems on my tablet PC (Windows XP Tablet). After
reinstalling Office 2003...the problem still remains....:-(

I installed the latest patches form MS but the problem still
remains....

I do have a couple of broken links in my explorer to shares.
But I need those because i work for different customers.

The problem occurs only when these broken links exists.
When removing (disconnect) these links... excel doens't hang that long
...it still hangs.... but for only half a minute... I believe it has
something to do with the caching of explorer....

But i'm not sure
