Office 2003 Service Pack 1- Word toolbars

After upgrading to service pack 1 we can not save customized toolbars in
Word. The only way we have been able to fix it is to uninstall the software,
delete the registry keys, and reinstall without SP1. The buttons are there
when the user is working, but once they close word and reopen it the buttons
or tollbars are set back to default.

That's not an SP1 bug: sounds more like Acrobat 7 which through some
excellent programming inhibits normal.dot from saving.

There's a rough workaround: edit the Windows registry. You need to find the
key
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Office\Word\Addins\PDFMaker.OfficeAddin]

and change the subkey called "LoadBehavior" from a value of 3 to 0
