Office 2003 service pack 2 unsuccessful install any hints

I have tried several things to get the update to install but it is still
unsuccessful. I do not want to play with the registry if I can avoid it.
Anyone got any hints or a simplified explanation of how to fix th eregistry
file if that is the problem.
