We just started pushing out Office 2003 SP3. Around that same time we
started to see some weird things, that we don't know if it is related.
In outlook if you update a single appointment in a recurring series, you may
get this error when hitting
update. "Cannot read one instance of this recurring appointment. Close any
open appointments and try again, or recreate the appointment" This is on a
brand new appointment.
Also when sending an update to a single meeting in a recurring series the
attendees will get the change request but it will not reflect the update.
Also when sending an update to a single meeting in a series the attendees
may or may not get an update.
We are also seeing appointment pop-ups for meetings that are weeks old.
As a side note. All the users are on an Exchange 2000 server. We just
introduced an Exchange 2003 server into the mix but no user accounts have
been moved yet.
