I am deploying Office 2003 Pro to several workstations running Office
2003. In my .MST file I specify to remove older versions of Office and
to install it with other custom options. Setuppro.ini has been
modified to point to my .MST file. When I run Setuppro.EXE directly
from the desktop the installation is successful and Office 2000 is
removed. However when I run it via a shutdown script configured in
group policy it fails.
The installation runs but if I try to launch any Office 2003 app exp.
winword.exe I get an error "User "System" has previously initiated an
install for product "Microsoft Office Professional Edition 2003. That
user will need to run that install again before they can use that
product. Your current install will now continue". It rolls back the
previous install and then runs the install again and it is
successfully installed. I think this is related to the
"System" account running the setup. Any idea?
