Create an e-mail message /c ipm.note
means
navigate to C:\Program Files,Microsoft Office\OFFICE11
create a shortcut to Outlook.exe on the desktop
edit the properties of the Shortcuts Target to include
/c ipm.note
after the
"C:\Program Files,Microsoft Office\OFFICE11\Outlook.exe"
so it looks like this.
"C:\Program Files,Microsoft Office\OFFICE11\Outlook.exe" /c ipm.note
This will open a new message when clicked. You may place this shortcut
in the Quick Launch area or other Toolbar you wish to create from the
Taskbar area.
Now do the same with the others by copying the first and changing the
portion after the "/c"
Change Icon and lable to suit taste.
I am sorry, but I don't quite understand this post. Are these instructions
for a .bat file or something of the like? Could you please clarify this.
Sorry.
:
Create an e-mail message /c ipm.note

After furious head scratching, Warren asked:
| Hi, I know that MS has discontinued the Shortcut Bar in Office 2003.
| I have decided to go with the add a toolbar in the taskbar work
| around option. But I really miss how the shortcut bar had icons to
| create a new message, note, task, contact etc. without opening up
| outlook. Is there a way to create shortcuts in a taskbar that will
| allow me to open up a new note or task or appointment without having
| Outlook open? Thanks
