Office 2003 + Shortcut Bar

J

John

I know Microsoft, in their infinite wisdom, decided that
users should use the old Office Shortcut Bar any more
once they switch to Office 2003.

Well, I want the toolbar. I don't want to use the Quick
Launch bar--the bottom of my screen is crowded enough
with the Start button, Quick Launch, the task bar, and
the system tray.

I tried copying the MSOFFICE.EXE file from an Office XP
install over to my machine and running it, but you get
this error when you run it:

"The operating system is not presently configured to run
this application."

Does anyone know of a hack to make the OXP toolbar work
with O2K3?

Hi John,

If you have a copy of MS Office XP or 2000 you can
do a custom install to add the Office Shortcut Bar
'as is' from either version.

You can create a Windows Toolbar that you
can drag to other spots on your screen (it's not necessary
to have it stay on 'the bottom').

You can also use 3rd party toolbars, such as

Hi John,
As Bob says you can install the Office XP short cut bar, and more information regarding your question is at:
