Office 2003 - Simulated Double-Click in File Open/Save As doesn't

I run XP Pro with Office 2003. Ever since upgrading to 2003 from Office XP I
have had trouble in ALL OFFICE 2003 Products with being able to use my mouse
wheel (assigned as Double-Click) to drill-down directories and/or open files
in the File Open/Save As window.
I have seen this problem posted by other users in various forums... but no
one has ever provided a fix or workaround.

I am using the Intellipoint Mouse dirver 4.10.851.0

Am I alone in wanting my single key double-click back? Does anyone know
if/how this can be fixed?
