Office 2003 SP 2 update, missing SKU1E3.CAB but it's not on CD

D

dboyett

received a notice from MS Licensing about updating Office 2003 to SP 2. I
downloaded the full network version, (the version that's not supposed to
require an installation CD) and tested it on one of our PC's. The install
comes up that say's that it can't find SKU1E3.CAB and it asks me for the
installation CD. I searched the Installation CD and there is no CAB file by
that name anywhere on the CD.

What's up? Can I find this CAB anywhere else?

You receive an "Installation Error: File not Found" or "Error 0x51F" error message when you try to
update Office 2003 programs from the Office Update Web site or the Office Download Center
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/875556/en-us
Note The file name is frequently, but not limited to, SKUxxx.cab, where xxx corresponds to the
second, third, and fourth numbers of the Product Code.)

I am trying to install a legal version of MS Publisher 2007 on my
computer. I have Office 2003 installed and I get a error in the middle
of installation saying that it can't find the E:/SKU1E3.CAB file on the
cd. I went to the MS website and downloaded all the service packs and
tried to reinstall the Publisher cd, still getting the error! Please
help, I paid a lot for this software and can't install!!!

There is only one reference to the CAB file on the Knowledge Base.

When you try to start a Microsoft Office 2003 program for the first time, you
receive the "Installation Error: File not Found" error message
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/896866/en-us

It maybe cleaning up the installer might be a solution.

If you use the above, be certain you have your product code handy. You might
want to run Belarc Advise first.
