Office 2003 SP1 Installation Error

G

Gary

When I install Office 2003 SP1 I get an error during the
install where it is tying to find a file called
ZF561407.CAB. This file does not exit on any Office CD
that I have 97,2000, or 2003. This error during the
install will not allow me to open Excel now. Eveytime I
try to open Excel it tries to reinstall Office SP1. Any
ideas about the file or how to remove the installation
process so I can use Excel agian?

Thanks!
Gary

I get the same thing. I did some research about it and
they (Microsoft) suggested using the administrative
install of SP1 because that will not ask for installation
CADs or anything. Well I tried it and I still get the
same thing.

When you get the answer can you forward it to em also
please.

I just tried to run the repair of Office 2003 and it
failed looking for the same CAB file and then I ran the
reinstall and the same thing looking for that CAB file.

I am stuck unless I completly uninstall then reinstall
but that would be a pain in the butt.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Gary, this file is on your Office 2003 CD (Office Pro, Office SBE, Office
Standard or Office Basic). If you insert the CD when prompted, everything
should be fine.

Sloan,

The file is the one in the originating thread:

ZF561407.CAB

Any help would be great.

Thanks.

Sloan,

I did insert the CD and it did not change anything. I
even searched the CD for the file and it did not find it,
so I searched all of my other Office CD's and it was not
on any of them.

I tried the installation CD and I have also tried some
newer ones.

Gary did you upgrade from Office XP? Could that file be
on that CD?

Can you tell me the file name for the MSI file on your CD? As I indicated
that file is on all of the Office 2003 suite CDs (at least the retail
versions). It is not on the standalone product CDs, Enterprise version
Office 2003 products, or on CDs for other versions of Office.

Sloan,

I have three MSI files on the Office 2003 OEM (HP) CD.
They are OWC10.MSI, OWC11.MSI, and PRO11N.MSI. The
install was a fresh installation, but I also have Visio
2003, FrontPage 2003, and had to install Access 97 for
some of our old apps. I have 174 OEM copies of Office
and I have check two of the and this file is not
present? I can not even get SP1 to stop trying to load
when I try to use Excel.

Any help is very much appreciated.

Thanks!
Gary
