Office 2003 SP1 Update Failed - Looking for SKU1E3.CAB

After attempting to update Office Pro 2003 with Office 2003 SP1, I get an
error saying it cannot find SKU1E3.CAB and to insert the Office 2003 Pro CD.
After inserting the CD, the file still cannot be found...neither on the CD
nor anywhere on my HDD. Now none of my Office programs will run until the
SP1 installation is complete...each attempt to run Word or Excel causes a
reattempt to install SP1 and the subsequent failure already mentioned.

I am also having the SKU1e3.cab file request during the
Office 2003 update. Please specify instruction to resolve
this situation. Thank you.

I would by no means call this a solution, but uninstalling and reinstalling
Office and then trying to apply the updates seems to resolve the problem.
The reason I uninstalled it was really so I could install it on a different
hard-drive, but it turned -out that it allowed me to install the SP as well.

I hate not knowing why.

Hi, Jonathan,

Do you have another Office family product installed, such as FrontPage or
OneNote? It may be looking for that CD.
