Office 2003 SP1 update fails, Can't find X2561407.CAB

J

Jason Bower

When I try to install the Office 2003 SP1 update from the
office update site, or by downloading the full-file
update I get the same error saying:

Installation Error: File not Found

A required installation file X2561407.CAB could not be
found.

It then ask for the orignal Office Professional Edition
2003 CD. I insert it, but it doesn't do any good because
the CAB file is not on the CD. My guess is that the cab
file is packaged inside of the msi file, but I can't
confirm.

Can anyone help me. I'd like to patch my system against
this JPEG security issue.

Hi Jason,

That .CAB file should be in the root folder of your CD ROM
for the MS Office 2003 Professional Edition. It contains
the MS Office Infopath program application.

Check the title on your CD to be sure it's the same
Office 2003 edition name as shown in Add/Remove Programs
in the Windows control panel.
