Office 2003 SP1 Update Problems

I just bought a new computer that has Office 2003. I am
trying to run the SP1 for Office 2003. I have done the
following:
Check for updates - successful
Hit the 'Agree and Start Installation' button - successful
Step 1 of 5: Confirm selection, push Next - successful
Step 2 of 5: Have the CD ready (which I do), push Next -
successful
Then it quickly goes to Step 5 of 5 and
says 'Installation Unsuccessful'

I looked at the different reasons and tried to install
the fullfile version. I successfully downloaded it, and
accepted the end user license and it looks like it's
extracting files but then a pop up box comes up that
says 'The update cannot be applied'

I've read every post about the Office Updates and
couldn't find my exact error discussed.
