Office 2003 SP1 won't install: SKU01a.CAB missing

When I try to install SP1:

I get the following error in the above.

Also, I search for the above file on the orginal and
nothing on the orginal at all, Only an xml file.

would there be a conflict with various versions of
office, such as office xp sp3?

See if this helps:

request for the CD when the \MSOCache folder is not fully intact.

This file is part of the standalone Outlook 2003 CD not one of the Office
2003 suite products. So it appears that CD was used for installing Outlook.
You'll need to install that CD. If you have overlapping Office 2003
products installed (visible in Windows|Add/Remove Programs), I suggest
uninstalling the ones that aren't needed as that will cause you some grief
later.

Installing multiple versions is not recommended, but you can do it. Some
features will not be available if the matching version Office application is
not available. For example, Outlook 2003 can only use Word 2003 if you want
to use Word as your email editor. See the information in the KB article at

information.
