Office 2003 SP2 Installation - A couple of possibilities

P

Peter Wall

1) Use Detect & Repair from the Help menu of any of the Office programs or
2) Do a repair install from the original CD.

Then apply SP2.

The second technique was the one I used successfully.

Or there's the real brute force option of uninstalling and reinstalling the
base product ...

Cheers, Peter.

Having great difficulty with either completeing the SP2 intall (won't
complete and won't stop trying to complete) or using excel. Every time I try
and start excel it wants to load the install and won't complete without the
CD. I'm on the road and don't have them. Tried downloading the full SP2
version and it too wants the CD to find sku111.cab. I desparetly need excel
to do my job!!!!! Any thoughts? Tried the detect & repair but it too wanted
the CD... Is there anyway to get back to prior to the update until I can to
the CD's?

Same here ... Office SP2 failed, and then Excel wouldn't launch w/o
requesting the CD w/ the SKU111.CAB file.
Tried the detect & repair but it too wanted
the CD...
From previous posts ... looks like there are differences between
"Office 2003 Pro" CDs even -- as the one I am working off of does not
have the file (viewed all files, hidden, etc.).

I had to uninstall and then reinstall Office to get back to being able
to use Excel.
