We have recently upgraded to Office 2003 SP2 and began having a problem.
When mail merging file from excel, we have an issue with the Zip code field.
From what I have gathered, word is reading the first few zips and deciding
the data is entirely numbers. Thus when it encounters a zip with a - in it
(22222-2222) it simply imports a 0. If you change the first zip to have a -
at the end, then everything imports correctly.
Is there a way to turn off this auto format feature of word? We don't have
this problem on machines running Office 2003 SP1.
