office 2003 start menu shortcuts disappearing.

Problem:- Office 2003 pro
After full installation of above on Brothers xp home (fully patched/up to
date) machine some of the start menu shortcuts seem to disappear after a
while.
These shortcuts are the ones- start/all programs/microsoft office- then you
get the drop-down for word,outlook and so on.
After a day or so word,outlook,excel will no longer be shown in the drop
down.The actual programs are still installed and can be accessed thro'
program files folder or shortcuts created on the desktop.
I have searched/googled on this and have found similar probs. but answers
seem to relate to disappearing shortcuts on the start menu itself not the
dropdown shortcuts -start/all programs/microsoft office.
The machine in question has 4 user accounts,one being the admin. account
which encounters this problem.My own machine has only 1 account and does not
suffer from this problem.
I have looked in start menu properties and studied the options to no avail.
Using xp start menu,not classic.
Anybody have any ideas ?
