Office 2003 Std Ed and Access

B

Bob Simon

I recently removed XP Home and loaded XP Pro followed by Office 2003
Std Ed. Now I need Access and want to know if I can load it from my
old Office 2000 SR-1 disc without messing up any of the current
applications.

When I tried this, Outlook dissapeared and PowerPoint presentations
indicated that the app had to be set up. Thank God for System
Restore!

Can what I want be done without any bad side-effects?

Have you tried installing the older application before installing Office
2003?

No, to do this, I'd have to remove Office 2003, install Access from
Office 2000, then reinstall Office 2003. Are you saying this is the
only way to do it?

What would happen to my message store if I remove Outlook?

A. Run the Office-2000 install.
B. Select "Custom"
C. Deselect all programs except Access.
D. Change the install path to (say) "C:\Program Files\Access-2000".

That worked for me.
