Office 2003 Student and Teacher's Edition, Installation Problems

L

Las Vegas

I just bought Office 2003 Student and Teacher's Ed. and have been trying to
install it for the past two days. The Installation progress bar will always
stop at "Writing Registry Values" and the installation will freeze and
eventually give me a "The installation is not responding" and gives me the
option to retry which does not work either. Do I have a bad CD or is there
something on my computer stopping it from installing? I have Norton
Antivirus and Webroot Spy Sweeper. Thanks for the help in advance.

IMO, unlikely to be the CD.

These are just guesses.
Since you have Norton Anti-Virus, in the Taskbar, right click on the
Norton Anti-Virus icon and Disable Auto Protect {I would choose to disable
for 1 hour as you can enable again when you are done}.
Try running Disk Cleanup or manually delete files in your Temp folders.
Not familiar with Webfoot, if you can disable it you should also do so.
You may need to cleanup your Windows Installer {I would do this last}.
