Hi, I'm about to back up my laptop's hard drive before mailing it off for
repair, and I was wondering if my hard drive winds up being replaced, and I
restore my data to the new drive, but on the same computer, will I have
issues with the activation?
Also, though the latest service pack seemed to download without any
problems, after doing a validation through Firefox that seemed a little odd
(I think it sent my data twice), I failed validation, though I bought Office
2003 through my school bookstore with a Student Select License, I haven't let
anyone else use it, and I'm pretty sure that the bookstore isn't pressing
counterfeit holograms. Could that complicate things if I were to restore an
HD image?
And finally, it's probably more likely that my motherboard is going to be
replaced than my hard drive. Could -that- cause problems? Thanks!
