Office 2003 Trial CD *Activation will not work*

Hi,

I ordered the Trial and paid for the CD Version. It arrived over a month ago
and I just now installed it today. I uninstalled my registered version of
Office 2000 beforehand as the Set-up Tips suggested. I feel that was a big
mistake on my part. When I open Outlook, Excel, etc. The Activation Wizard
pops up, I select "Over the internet since this is the only option made
available to me. When I click next after about 15 seconds, I get the pop-up
window saying that

"The Activation Wizard is unable to find a connection to the internet.
Please make sure that your connection is working properly........etc, etc"

Well, my connection is alive and well, so what do I do please? I have cut
myself from all communication via e-mail, I have e-mails from customers
coming in that I can not answer and a deadline of invoices to complete within
the next few hours.

Please don't tell me that my trial has expired, I paid for it, so I should
be able to install it whenever I get around to it. It states that the
software has an expiration date 30 days after installation, which I installed
today.
