Office 2003 unable to install Service Pack 2

Papa G

despite doing a repair install of Office 2003 I am still unable to install
SP2. It goes so far, 40%, then I get D:\MSO Cache\All
Users\90000409-6000-11D3-8CFE-0150048383 was not found!

Office 2003 is installed on C drive, there are no office set up files on D
drive!

Has anyone got an answer to this?

Thanks in anticipation.

The installer /thinks/ there used to be an MSOCache folder on the D: drive,
probably because there was, when Office was first installed, but now there
is not -- perhaps it was deleted from the filesystem.

Obtain the LISTool.exe utility from Microsoft Office downloads, and use it
to recreate your "Local Installation Source" on your PC, then try the
installation again.
