office 2003 update fails

Is there a clause or something that one can't update the Student/Teacher
version of Office 2003?

I'm an instructor at a college and have a legit program on my computer, but
when I try to install SP2 for Office 2003 it keeps failing. Almost like the
XP SP2 authentication fails for pirated copies...but this is Office and it
does do the small updates no problem, just SP2 now.

I've hit the "Send Error Report" to Microsoft so they (you) have a copy of
my Product ID etc.

cheers

Again, if you read through mulitiple posts on this board--you'll find you
should try to run Detect & Repair FOR ALL OFFICE applications you have
installed on your computer. If you have any other Office programs that
weren't included in the original Student/Teacher edition of Office you'll
need the installation CD for these applications and you'll need to run Detect
& Repair separately for each one. Once you've done this, reboot your
computer and try to update Offce once again. You can find the Service Pack
update by opening any office program--Word, Excel, Outlook, etc., clicking on
"Help" on the top tool bar and then selecting "Check for Updates" from the
drop down list. Then, just follow the on screen instructions as they occur.
Good Luck!
