Office 2003 Update Failure

I have read many posts on this problem and tried most of them. The first
problem is having the Office Professional 2000 on the Add/Remove area and not
being able to remove it. Secondly there are 4 updates which down load but
fail on installation both from MS update and a saved file. They are:
kb913161, 913807, 905756, and 907417.

The error on all is 0x80070670. I thouroughly followed kb 304498. This has
not resolved the problem. The OS is Windows XP with 2, MS Office 2003
Professional and McAffee virus with Windows Firewall.

Have I missed some fix for this problem? Thank you for all solutions.

Thank you for your suggestion A. Almeida.

I had some time to go through that kb913754 today. When I was following
that procedure today, I realized I had performed that task quite sometime
ago. I did that activity before I switched to the XP Professional version
from the Home version.

The office updates still do not install. Are there any other suggestions
you may have? Thank you.
