Office 2003 Update, minus Outlook 2003

I don't have Outlook 2003 installed (since it doesn't allow free Hotmail
use) with my Office 2003 suite. Nevertheless, Windows Update recommends
that I install the Outlook 2003 update for junk email filtering. Should I
allow this update -- it seems to have no app to update! Basically, I just
want the recommendation to quit appearing constantly on every bootup.
Thanks.

Just install it . Since you have Office 2003 installed it will always nag you. Will not do any harm

Hi E.W.,

To add to Peter's reply , the update scan is based on the product package you have rather than on individual programs/features
currently active in that program. That way you should be able to change the feature set in use without having to repatch later.

If you're using the MS Update service there should be a checkbox in the dialog box for the 'more info' description to not be
reminded again about a specific update, but keeping the full Office 2003 package up to date is often quicker, overall.

Thanks Bob and Peter,

I cannot find the dialog box for "more info" even though I have the Windows
Update app installed. I believe this is what you're writing about -- it's
the "ultimate" update service, I believe.

In any case, I'll just install the Outlook 2003 updates and Vista will put
them "somewhere."

Thanks for your replies.
