MrBill
I recently upgraded Office '97 on my 2 home PC's to Office 2003. When
clicking on the MS Office update page:
http://office.microsoft.com/officeupdate/maincatalog.aspx?lc=en-us
It tells me that 3 Office 2003 updates are needed on one PC, which is
correct, and 3 Office 2003 updates PLUS the Office 2000 SR-1a, which
is wrong! Additionally, it is showing 3 other Office 2000 updates,
but grayed out - which I assume will be available once SR-1a is
installed. Of course I didn't apply the bogus updates, but why is the
update page telling me to update my Office 2003 with Office 2000
files, and what can I do to get the update page to see my copy of
Office correctly?
More information: Both systems run WinXP Home, neither system has
ever had any part of Office 2000 installed. The system with the
problem has only Word and Excel installed, no PowerPoint or Outlook.
The system with no problems has only Word installed, nothing else.
Thanks, Bill
