Office 2003 update wants to download Outlook updates when Outlook isn't installed

I've installed Office 2003 Basic on my wife's machine. (She only really
needs Word but I've installed Excel too just in case.) I did the update
thing (SP etc) and I noticed that the updates for Outlook are flagged even
though Outlook's not installed--and never will be.

Why are the Outlook updates flagged and can I keep them from being?

Hi Bob,

The Office update site offers updates based on the product installed, rather than just the selected features of that product. The
updates are saved on the PC and 'kick in' when you do change features.

If you're using MS Update (Windows and Office update service) you can choose the 'do not show me this update again' option when
updates are offered or downloaded.

Thanks for that info & tip.
