office 2003 updates

When I use the update sight for Office, the files dowload fine, but won't
install. I have tried all the suggestions from microsoft including
rebuilding the path to the CD. I tried to repair Office but the repair
failed. I've noticed that when I try to install the updates, my floppy drive
turns on like it is trying to read from it. I have the drive path set in the
refistry as my CD-RW (E:\). Any suggestions?

If even the repair to your Office product failed, then you have some serious
corruption problem with your Office files. I suggest you uninstall and
reinstall Office. If for some reason you cannot uninstall successfully (which
is the case for some corruption issues) use the Windows Installer Cleanup
Utility described here and then reinstall Office:
