Office 2003 Upgrade from Office 2000 Pro

Currently running Office 2000 Pro and would like to upgrade to Office 2003 Pro.
Setup a Test Upgrade environment and using a local installation image
located on a server. Using an *.mft custom file along with the *.msi file.
Pushing software to clients through GP. Install is fine but Office 2000 Pro
does not get uninstalled. I have indicated in the *.mft file to remove all
previous installations of Office 2000 Pro. How can I go about removing the
software so that it doesn't show as being installed on the system??
