Office 2003 Upgrade or full version

Bob

From a technical or feature standpoint, am I giving up
anything by opting for the upgade version over the full
version of Office 2003?

When you state it calls for the old CD exactly what do
you mean? Does the CD get put in briefly to search for a
code?
I have Office 2000 and am having a problem with Outlook.
Microsoft Tech Support has suggested I completely
uninstall it before installing 2003. If I do this will I
be asked to put in the 2000 CD for whatever purpose? I
don't want to completely uninstall and then find out the
Upgrade 2003 CD won't install.

Thanks.

Hi Richard,

When installing an Office Upgrade edition it checks
to see if a qualifying product is installed. If not,
it then asks for the CD for a qualifying product to
be inserted briefly.

Office 2003 will accept Office 97, 2000 or XP(2002) CDs
as well as the CD for MS Works/Works Suite v5 (2000)
or higher.

Office XP(2002) only accepts Office 97 or Office 2000
products.

If you have the Office System 2003 beta product now
it is not an upgrade edition and doesn't check for
an earlier edition.
