office 2003 upgrade

I just upgraded from Office 2K to Office 2003.
When opening a current (office2K) word or excel document, and then go to
"SAVE", while in win 2003, file corrupts and the PC freezes. Could this have
anything to do with the upgrade?
Please advise.
