Office 2003, Volume Licensing = future limitations?

I have been looking into the volume licensing available
for office 2003, but am not sure how this effects future
installations? From the material I've read on Microsoft's
site, it seems to me that you can no longer install retail
versions of other software, such as MS Publisher, if you
have already installed the enterprise(volume licensing)
version of office.....is this right? If anyone knows,
please reply back. Thanks a bunch.

Your best bet for the definitive answer is to contact your local Microsoft
Representative. Any information you receive here will be guesses - only
MSFT knows the answers as it is their program.

Hi Jenny,

You can install a standalone Office System 2003
application, such as Publisher 2003 or FrontPage
2003 on a machine that has a volume license installation.

Depending on your deployment and updates choices for
the volume license agreement product you may end up
with separate update requirements/methods.

Can you tell us which information on the MS website
brought you to the conclusion that having a volume
license would preclude you from having the ability
to install retail app copies? If you are enrolled
in a MS volume license program is there a reason that
you would not also purchase a license to the standalone
Office apps under that license?
