Office 2003 vs 2007

I bought a new laptop and am about to start using Access. My employer uses
2003.
If I purchase 2007 for my laptop and create a data base, will I be able to
transport it to my employer's PC and use it and update it there? I do not
know how to use Access so I will be taking lessons. I don't want to purchase
2007 if it won't convert to 2003 and vice versa. Also, Don't want to learn on
2007 or 2003 if the opposite is easier.

Hi Janelle,

It is possible to create a database with Access 2007 that can be used
with Access 2003: you just have to know and avoid the new features
that don't work in 2003. Conversely, 2007 works just fine with most
Access 2003 databases.

But the big differences between the two will make learning both at
once a challenge - especially if you're not already familiar with
database concepts. So unless your firm intends to upgrade soon I'd
recommend you get Access 2003 for home. The firm may even be able to
provide you with a legitimate copy.
