office 2003 wants to update office 2000 Service Pack 3

I have Microsoft Office 2003. When I run Microsoft Office Update from the
Microsoft Office Online Download page it goes through the " Checking for
Office updates you need..." process, then gives the "REQUIRED UPDATES" saying
that I need to install "Office 2000 Service Pack 3 (English version)" and has
the other updates grayed out because it wants the service pace 3 first. Yet
all of the other updates are also for "Office 2000" and I don't have Office
200 installed, I have Office 2003 installed.

Does anyone know why it's doing this, and how to fix it so it will update
properly?

You may still have a program from Office 2000 installed. Check your
Add/Remove option under Control Panel. Office 2003 does not include all of
the programs that Office 2000 did so if you did an upgrade and elected to
remove Office 2000, perhaps not all of the Office 2000 programs were
removed. I know that at least Front Page and PhotoDraw would not have been
removed as they are not in the Office System 2003 Professional Package.

I added the Office Shortcut Bar from Office 2000 onto the computer after a
clean install of Office 2003. I have two computers at home and Two at work,
all four computer have the same setup and the other three update correctly,
this is the only one that wants to update to service pack 3 for office 2000
and it does not show any of the Office 2003 updates. Any Ideas?

If the OSB is all you have installed from the Office 2000 CD, then ignore
the message. I routinely ignore messages to install XP updates on those
machines I have configured to use the XP OSB.
