Office 2003 Word crashes on file open file save

Hi,

I was hoping someone could help me with a small issue we are having.
We have recently installed office 2003 pro to a bunch of our new
machines. Whenever we click on file open, file save as word crashes
before showing any files. As well word crashed when I went into tools
options folder locations. My guess is it is something to do with
accessing the network files as profiles are directed to the server.

So here is what I have

Windows XP Pro SP1
Office 2003 Pro
1 GB Ram
clean copy of normal.dot
Full permisions to program files\office for users
Full permisions to hkey_local_machine\software\microsoft\office

We are running on a windows 2003 domain
This problem only occurs as a user, and works fine as adminstrator.
