Office 2003 Word hangs when save as is selected

I seem to have a big problem with Word 2003 with the latest service packs
and fixes installed.

If I go into Word work on a document, it could be a new document or an
existing document. I then click on file save as, as soon as I click on the
save in drop down box word hangs and eventually kicks me out. If I move
around using the up one level icon it doesn't hang.

Any idea's on what is causing this issue?

Right-click on the My Computer icon on the Windows desktop,
left-click on Disconnect Network Drive, and disconnect any mapped
drives that are not currently available.

I'm in a corp environment and having the same issue but all the network
drives are available. Any other ideas
