Perhaps I can clarify my previous question. After I boot up my computer
which contains office 2003 and I try to bring up word or excel the
indication is that the program goes into an installation of the word or
excel program which takes a while to install. This happens every time I try
to open word or excel.
Is there any way to have the installation take place during the boot up
cycle?.

Were you logged in as Admin when you installed and first opened Word or
Outlook? If not, switch to the Admin account and try opening Word. If that
still doesn't work, then it probably means that your installer is corrupt.
If you go to the MS Office Support site there is an article about a corrupt
installer and a download for an installer cleaner.
