Moving Office won't work. It has to be installed and since you no longer
have the disk, you're up a famous creek. Did you get Office with your
computer or did you buy it separately?

I bought it seperately but my friend has a copy of Office 2003 so do I
unistall and re install? I really just want to use Word from all the
componenets

You can't use your friend's copy. You need to buy your own. You can get Word
2002 as part of Works Suite. Otherwise you're going to have to try to find
Office 2003 at some (possibly shady) online site or upgrade to Office 2007.

'Moving' Office 2003 does not move (amongst other things) the registry
entries, which *may* help you reinstall. Download and run the free Belarc
Advisor and see if it reports the Office 2003 installation key. If it does,
make a note of it and you should be able to install using your friend's disc
in conjunction with that key. Otherwise you will either have to find the
lost disc or buy a new one, though if you move all the files from the
external disc back to their original locations there is an outside chance
that it will run again.
