Office 2003

Instead of yanking your old reliable well loved software from the shelves as
soon as you issue something new....that most people find cumbersome at
best....I suggest you let people make the decision whether to purchase the
old version or the new version.

I am currently FRANTICALLY searching for another copy or license for Office
2003 because the copy of 2007 that I bought is such a pain in the neck to
use. Nothing looks the same and it takes me 3 times longer to do things
because I have to hunt all over to find where stuff like cut, paste, edit,
etc have been hidden.

Guys.....if its not broke.....DON'T FIX IT!!!

They are NOT "hidden" at all. They are staring you RIGHT IN THE FACE on the
Home tab to which Word opens by default.....perhaps you just need to
LOOK....

I appreciate the sentiment. I am (or rather, was) a power user in Office
2003 prior to purchasing the new Office 2007. I have found that the new
version is actually more comfortable to use. For most items, including
Cut-Copy-Paste, I can still use the keyboard shortcuts, but the "ribbon"
design is very intuitive to me. After about a month of using it (I was a
beta tester), I found it significantly more usefully designed than 2003
because of the simplicity (and logic) of finding things. I still
occasionally get frustrated, but overall I like it. (Altough my husband
still can't stand it.)

I suggest that you go to the Office website and run through a couple of the
demos/tutorials. I found them very helpful as my company switched over to
2007 for people who were having trouble adjusting. Don't give up just yet.
:)

If cut-copy-paste are all that is really holding you back, I suggest the
following:
CUT = Ctrl-X
COPY = Ctrl-C
PASTE = Ctrl-V
Once you learn to use these, you won't need to look for them any more - and
they are universal to all software (as far as I know).

Hope this is helpful.
