Office 2003

I had Office 2003 already installed when I purchased the computer new in 4/05
and have been using Microsoft Word ever since. A few days ago I had to do a
System Recovery and after that have not been able to pull up any Word
documents as I get a message from Microsoft that I need either a Product # or
Certificate of Authenticity which of course I do not have. I have called HP
twice and Microsoft once with no help whatsoever. I did not want to put out
the money to purchase an updated version of Office as I am retired and money
is tight. Anyone out there have any solutions for me? I am using Microsoft
XP Home Edition.

If you are unable to restore from whatever media they provided you, you will
(unfortunately) have to get support from them, as the Original Equipment
Manufacturer needs to support the products that they pre-install for you.

Did they give you a CD for Office? If so, have you tried using it to
re-install? System Restore is notorious for messing with Office
installations.
