Office 2003

I am running XP PRO SP2 and after successfully installing Microsoft Office
Document Imaging (MODI) OneNote SP1 Office Image Writer Printer doesn't not
appear in the Printer dialog page. Any clue?

Does it appear as a choice when you print in other programs? Does it appear
as a choice when you print from other Office 2002 programs?

I don't have a copy of Office XP handy for testing, but it may be another
instance of requiring Office 2003 for a feature to work with OneNote 2003.
Although I'll grant that the print driver being called from the Print Dialog
Box shouldn't be part of this compatability requirement.

Thank you for responding. I am running Office 2003 and the Image Printer
Writer is not listed under Printer Category thru Control Panel nor does it
appear as a choice in the Print dialog box. However when I open MS Office
Document Imaging and click Tools>Option>Other>File Import Preference I get a
message that says Image Writer not installed and asks me to
uninstall/reinstall Office Document Imaging. Kinda strange.

Sorry; I saw XP and assumed Office XP (which has a different version of MODI
tools).

I would reinstall as suggested by the software; the Imaging application is
not the only component of the MODI tools. The reinstall (or maybe a
Detect/Repair) should work. If you get the the MODI print driver to appear
in Control Panel, Printers and Faxes, then it should appear and be available
in all applications.

I do not have one note but; have had the MODI driver installed at one time
from Installing Microsoft Document Imaging. But, the Driver has been deleted
and I have been unable to Add it through Add Printer because I cannot find
the Microsoft Image writer Printer type and I cannot use Detect and repair to
re-add it.

How can I get it back. If I new the correct location for the MODI printer
file I have a MODI port available to add it from the Printers and FAXES
section.

It should be an option in the Office Setup (Control Panel, Add/Remove
Programs, select Office 2003, click Change).

The path to the MODI installation is as follows:

Select "Choose Advanced Customization of Applications", then hit Next.
MODI is in the "Office Tools" category on the next screen.
