Office 2004. 3 Installsm you are out???

Hey I keep hearing abot this new policy applied to Office 2004 for mac that
limits number of times you can install office to 3 or something like that. I
don't know exactly what they mean by that and how this works and trying to
find out. I was considering buying Office 2004 Pro in july because it comes
with VPC7, but if they are gonan limit me on how many times i can install
the program on my computer, I won't pay a penny for it. Can someone
clearify for me what they mean by this "3-installs" thing?

I would change sources of info if I were you ;-)

This is the first I've heard of it.

You may be hearing about the Student and Teacher edition, which comes
with 3 licenses. You can install the software as often as you wish, but
you can only install it on three machines at one time (six if you have
three desktops and three laptops).

Hey I never claimed it's a fact. I just read about it in 2 places. One of them,
as I can remember was review of the product @ amazon.com. Glad to hear
it's a bogus info I heard...
Well... what about Pro edition, how many computers can it be installed on at
the same time?

The Standard and Pro agreements allow installation on one desktop and one
laptop, to be used by one person.

Got it. But it seems like the only way to check that if those computers are
connected on the same network it seems to me then...

It knows. It queries your network looking for another mac, and it can tell
if its a desktop or a laptop.
