Office 2004 Entourage - Word attachments

In my version of Office 2004 Entourage will not allow me to open Word
document attachments. I have reloaded it twice - very frustrating and
makes Entourage functionally useless in a business environment Has
anyone else had this problem? Any solution?

What do you mean by will not allow? You should be able to select the
attachment in the window above the text message, double-click it or click on
Open (icon to left of attachment window), Entourage might give you a warning
message, and then it opens.

How do you try to open it, and what happens when you do? Does it make a
difference if Word is already launched? Can you open attachments in
non-Word file formats?
