Hi guys, when I open up any office program a warning message in a window appears saying: "An unexpected error occured while trying to load the Microsoft Framework Library"

Does anyone know what this error is and how it could be fixed??

Thanks for all your help

This is probably related to your other problem, and I would normally
recommend running Microsoft AutoUpdate (in your Applications folder) to
solve the problem, but since you are already experiencing issues, the safest
method would be to remove Office entirely and then reinstall it. To do that,
locate Remove Office in Applications/Microsoft Office 2004/Additional
Tools/Remove Office and drag it to the desktop. Run it from here and let it
remove any trace of the Office install it can find. After it has done so,
check to see if the Microsoft Office 2004 folder is still inside the
Applications folder; if it is, trash it. Now reinstall Office, and when you
are done, run AutoUpdate a number of times until it doesn't find any further
updates (the most recent one is 11.4.0, by the way).

I have also been having the same message, "unexpected error... Framework Library" ever since I migrated my stuff to a new laptop (MacBook Pro, OS 10.5.2 currently). Was never an issue on the old lappy.

I have followed the instructions @ <http://word.mvps.org/Mac/RemoveReinstall.html> to remove and reinstall. Update Office more times then I want to count, up thru 11.4.1. After each update I repaired permissions (all of this took well over an hour). I still get the error message. Any help?

Hi,

Use Help > Check For Updates and let Office update itself. The message
is caused when you install Office but don't run the updates/

In regards to my issue about "unexpected error... Framework Library" you told me to update Office using Help>Check for Updates. I followed your suggestion, even though I had already updated Office all the way thru 11.4.1, and repaired permissions after each update. However, your suggestion did not help. It told me there weren't any new updates, and I still get the Framework Library error message... :(

In case I found out that the framework issues were merely a symptom of a larger problem that occurred as a result of migrating from my old computer to this new one.

The framework issues were resolved after I (with the help of Apple phone support) was able to repair permissions using the Start-up disk, and a couple of other actions that I can't remember at this time.

Thank you for the assistance that you did attempt to give.
