Office 2004, G5, Tiger & Update 11.2.0

OK...This is my experience with the 11.2.0 Update:

I d/l'ed and installed the upgrade. When I loaded my spreadsheet in
Excel it wouldn't run my macros because it said it couldn't load Visual
Basic for Applications. I used Spotlight to find the file on my disk and
it found it in Applications/Microsoft Office 2004/Office folder. I
opened it up and could not find the file.

So I called MS Support. The "Support" person had me run the Remove
Office application that was in their Application/Microsoft Office
2004/Additional Tools/Remove Office folder. That trashed the Microsoft
Office 2004 folder. Then they said empty the trash. I did as instructed
and all was emptied except the Applications/Microsoft Office 2004/Office
folder which has no files in it. I cannot remove or delete this file. It
won't empty out of the trash because it says it's being used. Then they
had me restart the mac. Still won't empty out of the trash. Then they
said they'd have to connect me with their "top" support which would cost
me. I said goodbye. I wish they would send me an email requesting me to
rate their response to my problem!

Next I decided to worry about the un-emptying folder later and get about
restoring my Office 2004 applications. I loaded the CD and ran the
Install Assistant seemingly with no problems. Now everytime I open a
file in any of the MS apps I get a message " An unexpected error
occurred while trying to load the Microsoft Framework Library".

Ummmm...Do you think I should run the 11.2.0 Update? (I don't think so!)

I remember seing something rather similar in past versions that were
related to the Carbon Registration Database. This file does not exist
anymore in Office 2004, but I suspect similar information is stored in
some of the Office pref files.
I would try moving the files in ~/Library/Preferences/Microsoft/ to
another location to see whether it could fix the problem one you
re-launch Excel.
