Office 2004 Loading problem

When i try and open Microsoft Word 2004 if fails to load it does not
even get to a splash screen. It does pop into the dock for a sec then
disappears when it does not load. All the other programs that came
with office 2004 like excel and power point can load up with no
problems. When i do look at all the exe files for office programs it
looks like all the programs but the word exe have been updated. The
word exe is still a older 11.1.0 version while all the other ones are
the newer 11.3 versions. I think the problem was when the user moved
the word exe to the desktop and at a later time ran all the Microsoft
updates with the exe still on the desktop. I have tried moving the
word.exe back to its office folder and run the full patch but it still
does not get updated. I want to see if there is anything i can do
before a reinstall because it is a older program I would have to track
down the install disc that has been put in storage.

Before you reinstall try downloading and running the 11.3.5 updater
found here
<http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/...29-49C1-4AB8-81E1-71A048106429&displaylang=en>,
which is a combo updater for all prior versions of Office 2004. If that
runs then be sure to apply the subsequent 11.3.6 and 11.3.7 updaters. If
this doesn't work then I'm afraid that a reinstall would be the cleanest
and most reliable solution. I don't know what the Office updaters look
for specifically, but it's probably a myriad of items.

Hope this helps!

For what ever reason i don't know but with the 11.3.8 update for word
made it start working again looks like the word file got updated this
time and i am not sure why but it is good that it is working again.
