Hello
I have a problem with a few machines running 10.4.8 on the Intel
platform only when saving a file or opening a file from a remote server
using any Microsoft Office application. If I try to navigate through
different folders on the server the applications Save/Open button will
flash continuously, the only option is to force quit the app.
This only happens when using Office applications connecting to a 10.4.8
Mac OS X server. This does not happen when using SMB as a protocol. It
also does not happen when logging on as the same user on a PPC
platform. I have managed to recreate this fault at two different
locations. I have tried downgrading the OS to 10.4.4 currently using
Office 11.3.3.
I have followed the suggestions at
http://word.mvps.org/Mac/CantSaveToServer.html and unfortunately the
problem still exists. Permissions/Disk repaired on server and client
machines also Caches emptied. Deleting preferences also does not fix
issue. Neither does repairing the database.
Has anyone got any ideas?
Many thanks
