Office 2004 Student/Teacher: GE to EN

M

Michael Jack

Hi

I bought a copy of the Office 2004 package for students and teachers
from the German Amazon site:

<http://www.amazon.de/exec/obidos/ASIN/B00024WMQY/>

The picture shows an English version, but the text does say
"Sprachversion: Deutsch" (Language version: German).

Anyway, I had hoped that I could change the language used in menus etc.
under (Finder) Cmd-I -> Languages, but that section is simply empty.

Can I somehow get an English version from Microsoft, without having to
buy the full package again? I don't mind paying a small fee for the
actual CD/download.

Regards,
Michael [From Denmark, but living in Germany]

As far as I know, the language is determined by the purchase option and is
not available for change. The only way to change the menus, etc. is to
install an English version. Your best bet, therefore is to attempt to
exchange the German version for an English version. Amazon may offer this
option. Your best bet is to check with them.

I believe that CD keys will work on different language versions, so you
might want to contact Microsoft and see if you can just get a new disc with
the English language version since you've already purchased a license.
