Office 2004 test drive won't die

I have had Office 2004 for Mac since 2004, but when I installed Tiger a
"test drive" version was installed. I removed it, but I still have
documents that are being treated as part of test drive. So when I try
to do track changes editing, for example, the method is different and
the words "Office 2004 Test Drive User" appear. What must I do to
eradicate all traces of this program that I never wanted in the first
place? Thanks for any help.

Did you remove Test Drive properly? That is, did you use the "remove
office" tool? If not, then that is likely to be the problem.

And you will (sadly) need to run the Remove Office tool then re-install the
"Live" version. The only way to get the Test Drive out cleanly is to
properly Remove it with the tool.

And please use the Help>Send Feedback to Microsoft... Menu to let them know
how you feel :) Keep it polite or the naughty-words filter will simply
trash your feedback before a human sees it. But we need to let them know
loud and clear how much pain this causes.

This is a particularly gruesome design bug. Send feedback so they don't do
this again in the next version :)

Cheers

It's Microsoft do they listen to feedback given to them? :)

Hi Dan -

The answer is Yes, they do. That's [one reason] why they support this forum.
Many people get the impression that MS "doesn't listen" because the software
isn't immediately rewritten to include every 'suggestion' made. You might be
surprised at how many of the existing features are the result of
*responsible* user input and [quite unfortunately] popular demand.

Sadly, yes they do. Half the features I *really* object to, such as
"partially applied styles" have been produced precisely because some putz
requested them :)
